Add Print Queue to UIT Print Server (TABVMUITPRNT)
Overview
Instructions for creating Print Queue on UIT Print Server. Â
Note: You must first log into Proteus and select a DHCP Reservation using the MAC address of the printer/copier and select an available IP address and hostn ame to use with the printer before proceeding.
Log into UIT Print Server (TABVMUITPRNT) via Remote DesktopÂ
Procedure
- Open Print Management (MMC Snap-In)
- Right-click Printers > Add Printer
- Select "Add a TCP/IP or Web Services Printer by IP address or hostname
- Select Type of Device: TCP/IP Device and Enter Host name or IP address: (E.G. DepartmentPrinter100.uit.tufts.edu)
- Uncheck "Auto detect the printer driver to use" and click Next.
- Device Type: Standard: Generic Network Card and click Next.
- Select correct model print driver from "Use an existing print driver or on the computer"
 Note: Konica Minolta and most HP drivers should already be installed. If you can't find a specify HP model, use HP Universal Print Driver
 - If printer driver is not installed then select "Install new driver."
- Select a Printer Name (DepartmentPrinterModel or LocationPrinterModel naming convention. (E.G., PublicationsHP4000dn BallouHall1stFlrBizhub451 TAB211Dell3110cn )
- Click "Share this Printer", enter same Share Name as Printer Name, enter Location and Comments and select Next.
- Confirm all of the information is correct and select Next again.
- The Printer should now to be installedÂ
- Select "Print test page."
- Click Finish.
