Testing for Landesk 9.6

In order to test the new version of Landesk, you need to install the remote console. How to install LANDesk 9.6 Console has step by step instructions.

For testing, almost everything has been copied over to to TABVMLDESKTST (the test server) so any groups interested in testing just need to install the TABVMLDESKTST Landesk agent. It is currently available at both \\titan\ldeskpackages$\LANDesk Agents\LANDesk 9.6 TEST AGENTS.

Once you've installed the test agent on a computer, it should show up in your TABVMLDESKTST remote console and you can perform any testing you wish to.

For those groups wishing to test OSD and Provisioning, you will need to edit your templates prior to testing. During the upgrade, some of the actions need to be fixed since they reference items that do not exist. For example, every template needs to be updated to install the new default landesk agent instead of the old one.

In Landesk 9.6, WinPE does not automatically assign drive letters to partitions after imaging. In order for your provisioning templates to work properly, you need to add a partition action before the inject script step. The partition action should mount drive 0 partition 2 as the C drive. There is another option - new with version 9.6 - a step in the workflow may automatically attempt to recognize the partitions for you.
