Dell Latitude 6430s
Latitude Sleep/Wake Issue
This is a known issue that is happening with the Latitude E6430 model.
Here are some known information:
- Comes with A12 bios; the latest on the Dell website is A13. Release date 10/17/2013. This update does not fix the issue.
- According to forums, disabling Hibernation will fixes the issue. Hibernation is disabled by default by PXE Image. Does not fix the issue.
- According to forums, the cause can related to webcam or graphics drivers. Â
- When the computer is attempted to be awaken from sleep, the screen remains blank but the computer is on. Requires a hard-restart in order to bring screen back on.
- Occassionally causes blue-screen error - Error code 1033 - run sfc /scannow before continuing if you observe this error
Disabling the SD card reader in Device Manager removes the sleep / wake issue - it is (currently) the only work around that works on all the laptops we've seen with this issue.
Fix for 6420s (and possible 6430s) - Update with the proper card reader driver directly from Dell. LanDesk will sometimes take the card reader from newer laptop models
