FoxPro
FoxPro is a system used by Admissions groups on multiple campuses. If a request comes in to us for access to FoxPro, the Student Services Tech Team can give access, and the FSP then handles setup on the user's computer.
For access:
- Send request to techhelp@ase.tufts.edu requesting access for a user
- The user will then be added to the group AS_D_SS_GradAppUsers
- Notify the FSP/requester when access has been given
For setup:
- Map \\srvmss1\profgradapp$ to the R: drive. Make sure the drive is set to re-map at login
- Go to R:\newgradapp\install and run the following EXE's
- Smtp.exe - this installs the SMTP ActiveX control for sending emails from the program.
- OSSMTP_SETUP.msi - this is a newer version of the SMTP control. There may be code that uses this version or the older version. The two versions of the SMTP control are not in conflict with each other.
- Run R:\newgradapp\install\VFP6setup\setup.exe. This installs the Foxpro 6 runtime files.
- Run R:\newgradapp\install\VFP9RuntimeSetup\setup.exe. This installs the Foxpro 9 runtime files. This program needs to run for every user who uses the GAMS system on a machine. The user's account may need to have administrator access to successfully run this program.
- Go to R:\newgradapp\exes and create a shortcut to gradschools.exe. Copy this shortcut to the user's desktop or start menu.
