Authentication
Who Can Use It	Adobe/NERCOMP ETLA software may be installed on any institutional computer for use by Tufts University faculty, staff and contractors. Students may use the software when it is installed on institutional computers, but only in a computer lab or classroom setting.
Customer Responsibility
Limitations	Any computer with the Adobe software licensed via the university must have LANDesk installed.
Costs	The cost of the Adobe software in this article is covered by the university. There is no additional cost to the user.
Requirements for Use	With the new CC apps, most of the pro video and audio applications now require 64-bit operating systems to run. These native 64-bit applications include Adobe Premiere® Pro CC, Adobe Audition® CC, After Effects® CC, Prelude® CC, and SpeedGrade® CC. Photoshop CC and Lightroom® also require 64-bit on Mac OS. All applications except for Acrobat Pro, Fireworks, and Flash Builder Premium require OS X 10.7+ or Windows 7+. Muse is not currently distributed because it requires signing in with an Adobe ID.

Software Licensing

License Codes

Licenses codes are included in the LANDesk Packages and will not be distributed. If for any reason you feel you need the codes, please email it@tufts.edu with the details of your request.

Platform(s)

Acrobat Pro 11, Fireworks CS6, and Lightroom 5 supports Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, OS X 10.6, OS X 10.7, OS X 10.8, and OS X 10.9

Most of the remaining Adobe Creative Cloud Products support Windows 7, Windows 8, OS X 10.7, OS X 10.8, and OS X 10.9

Please be aware that the 32 bit packages are not supported on 64 bit versions of Windows 7 or Windows 8. Additionally, most of the Adobe software does not support Windows XP or OS X 10.6.8

Installation Requirements

LANDesk is required for all Adobe software covered under the site license.

Maintenance, Fixes

Future major and minor updates are included as long as Tufts has the Adobe site license.

Obtaining a License and Media

Media and license codes are not available for Adobe Creative Cloud software. Please contact it@tufts.edu if you believe you have a valid reason for an exception.

The distribution packages can be found under the Public->Tufts->Adobe CC folder or by searching "All packages" for the name of the program you are looking for.

The packages were prepared with Adobe's Creative Cloud Packaging tool meaning the serial number is included and none of the Adobe applications in the Adobe CC folder will check for updates.

The Adobe software can be patched via Landesk using an Adobe tool called "Remote Update Manager".

Many of the Adobe applications are large and can take a while to install. Depending on a number of factors, it can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 90 minutes to install these programs.

Issue

Anyone who has issues with the Adobe LANDesk packages in the Adobe CC folder can submit a ticket to support-systems@tufts.edu for assistance. Please include the following information in the ticket:

Exact name of the package you tried to install
The exact text of any error message
The name of the computer you tried to install the software on

Recommended Installation Method

There are 2 primary methods of deploying software through LANDesk. FSPs can choose to either make the applications available via the Landesk Portal Manager or they can choose to control deployment themselves.

LANDesk Portal Manager allows users to install applications themselves without administrator privileges. This enables users to easily install Adobe software that they might find helpful without burdening your FSPs with extra tickets.

You can target individual computers or sets of computers to ensure that your users have access to the software they would find most useful. For example, since Acrobat Pro is extremely popular across almost all departments, you may chose to make it available for users to install themselves on all faculty or staff computers. If an FSP has a department that does a lot of image manipulation, the FSP could make Photoshop, Fireworks, and/or Illustrator available to everyone in that department. Those users can them install it themselves, rather than have to open individual tickets.

In order to facilitate this, there is a package available in LANDesk called Adobe Common Software that includes Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Lightroom, Dreamweaver, and Premiere.
