Software Description: 

SigmaPlot is an integrated software package used by engineers and scientists for scientific graphing and data analysis from the vendor Systat. SigmaPlot allows users to graph their data quickly. 

SigmaPlot software:

  • Has a user-friendly interface to facilitate graph creation. 
  • Includes a large selection of predefined graphing options and statistical methods to simplify data visualization.
  • Includes over 100 2-D and 3-D graph types.
  • Integrates with Microsoft Office to facilitate analysis and graphing of Excel spreadsheet data

Installation Requirements

License Requirements: 

SigmaPlot network concurrent software licenses:

  • Current working version is SigmaPlot 12.5 (version 13.0 is not working properly, reported to vendor, waiting fix)
  • Are available for installation and use on Tufts-owned or leased computers for faculty, researcher, student, or staff as their primary affiliation in Tufts White Pages.
  • The software can be installed using LANDesk.  The  SigmaPlot LANDesk Package is located in the TTS Folder called “SigmaPlot 12.5 (TTS Network Licensed)”.
  • The software is also located on FSP Share at \\titan\software$\Sigmaplot
  • May be installed on faculty or staff personally-owned computers.
  • May NOT be installed on student-owned computers.
  • May only be used on computers which are actively connected to the Tufts network either via a local connection or via Tufts' VPN Network Connect.
  • The licenses are shared network concurrent licenses and not part of a site-wide or enterprise license.  If no licenses are available at a particular time, it may be necessary to try again later. 
  • The term licenses renews annually by university.
  • License managed by TTS – RGTS Department

Obtaining a License and Media

The software obtains licenses from the server at licenses01.atech.tufts.edu.

Two environmental variables must be updated in Windows before the software can obtain a license from the server:
LSFORCEHOST licenses01.atech.tufts.edu
LSHOST licenses01.atech.tufts.edu

To add these variables to the system, go to: Start Button > Right click on 'Computer' > click on Advanced System Settings > click on 'Environmental Variables on the bottom of the menu > Update both the User and system variables. The variable name is in all caps, the value for both will be the license server address. Reference information above.
