Manually starting the LANDesk Provisioning Agent
Overview
There are a few reported situations with computers not resuming provisioning templates after rebooting from WinPE or not starting at all in WinPE. This method can be used to start or resume the provisioning template if it has failed. This should only be used as a last resort. In almost all situations, the Landesk provisioning agent should automatically proceed with the provisioning template.
Before attempting these steps, please verify that either WinPE or Windows have a working network connection. Missing network drivers can cause similar symptoms. In many cases, drivers may just need to be added to the relevant environment.
Instructions in WinPE
- Right click the Go button and select new console.
- Type
cd X:\ldprovision
- Type
ldprovision.exe
- You should now be prompted for credentials, proceed as normal to start the provisioning process
Instructions in Windows XP or Windows 7
- Create the folder "C:\ldprovision"
- Copy the contents of \\ssvmldeskcore\ldlogon\provisioning\windows to C:\ldprovision
- Type
into the run box
c:\ldprovision\ldprovision.exe -c ssvmldeskcore.tufts.ad.tufts.edu
- Provisioning should resume from where it left off
