Remote control clients off-campus with LANDesk agent

With the LANDesk Cloud Services Appliance you can now remote control clients off-campus that already have the LANDesk agent installed.   Before attempting to do so please verify that the clients already have the latest LANDesk agent installed and that it is configured to use the LANDesk gateway.

To remote control a client off-campus that already has the LANDesk agent installed and updated.

  1. Launch LANDesk Management Console (with appropriate patches installed)
  2. Find computer that you want to remote control
    1. Note: Because it is off-campus it will not report online but you should still be able to connect.
  3. Right-click on computer and select "Remote control via the Management Gateway"
  4. You will be prompted to enter an additional set of credentials to log into the Management Gateway server
    1. Note: These are different credentials than your Tufts Username and Password.
    2. Please contact UITSC@tufts.edu if your support group does not have a LANDesk Cloud Services/LANDesk Gateway Account 
  5. Once credentials are entered you will either be directly connected to the computer or you will be presented a list of computers waiting for connects in the LANDesk Management Gateway.
