Overview

The standard TTS image is based on the Windows 7 Enterprise x64 KMS iso available at \\titan\software$\FSP\MCA\Windows 7\Windows 7 Enterprise with SP1 - Tufts KMS\ . The goal of the changes are to keep the original Windows 7 look and feel, but make Windows 7 more conducive to the business environment.

Changes

  • All available recommended and optional Windows Updates applied (except IE10 and language packs)
  • Start menu changes
    • default start menu action changed to log off instead of shut down (Start Menu -> Power button set to "Log off")
    • remove pictures and music, add recent items and downloads
  • Uncheck hide extensions for known file types (Tools ->Folder Options ->View)
  • Show all notification tray icons (Task Bar -> Customize ->)
  • Show computer icon on the desktop (Right click desktop - >Personalization->Change Desktop Items)
  • Give "Everyone" modify access over C:\Users\Public\Public Desktop
  • IE Homepage set to http://www.tufts.edu
  • Disabled action center warning about windows backup (Action Center -> Change Action Center Settings)
  • Power Settings set to High Performance
    • Disable hibernation
  • Tufts Screensaver
    • Tufts Logo
    • screensaver activates after 30 minutes
    • requires password after screensaver
  • Tufts Wallpaper
  • Tufts Elephant User Icon

Known Issues

  • Domain accounts do not use the Tufts user profile picture
