Junos Pulse on Mac
Junos Pulse is alternative VPN solution for Macs that can't install Network Connect (see Tufts VPN - Known Issues near the bottom of the page).
The following was written by Gennete Zimmer.
To Install Junos Pulse:
Get JunosPulse.dmg from the Service Desk.
Double Click on the JunosPulse.mpkg
At the Introduction window of the Junos Pulse installer click Continue
At the Destination Select window of the Junos Pulse installer click Continue
At the Installation Type window of the Junos Pulse installer click Install
The Installation process will begin
Once the window shows “The installation was successful.” at the Summary window click Close
Open Junos Pulse
Click the plus sign at the bottom left of the window
At the Connection Window:
- Name: Create a name for your connection
- Server URL: Type https://vpn.tufts.edu
Click Add
At the Junos Pulse Connections window click Connect
Type your Tufts User Name and Tufts Password
Click Connect
Once it is connected the window will display “Connected” under your connection. You can close the Junos Pulse window.
There will be a Junos Pulse icon at the top right side of the Mac Desktop menu bar
To map a network drive
Click on your desktop.
At the top of the desktop window, from the Finder, select Go > Connect to Server or press Command + K.
The Connect to Server dialog box will open.
In the Server Address: field, type the path to your Personal (P or Departmental (Q: or R network share.
When you’ve finished entering the path, click the Plus button to add the server address to your list of favorites.
Click Connect.
At the Authentication window:
1. Enter your Tufts Username (e.g. jsmith01)
2. Enter your Tufts Password.
3. Do not check, Remember this password in my keychain.
4. Click Connect.
To end your session
Once you are done with your session, click the icon
Scroll down to VPN Connection
Click Disconnect
