Office Professional Plus is only available using the A3 Plan. Currently Tufts University is offering the A2 Licensing plan for Students, and this is not yet available for general use but is part of a roadmap discussion for future service improvements
Login
- Visit https://login.microsoftonline.com and enter in your tufts username @tufts.edu for the login account
- e.g. jsmith@tufts.edu
- You will be redirected to a page with Tufts Branding that will request you log in with just your Tufts Username and Tufts Password.
Navigate to download Office Professional Plus
- In the upper-righthand of your screen, find the Gearbox, and select "Office 365 Settings" It should be to the right of your name.
- Select "Office 365 Settings"
Software
- Your screen should update to display a list of options on the left-hand side.
- Me: This is directory information about you that is being fed to Office 365 by Tufts. If you'd like to change this information, you must change it at Tufts through services like Whitepages.tufts.edu
- Software: Download a copy of the Office Professional Suite here for the type of device you are on. Mac and Windows versions are available
- Password: Your Office 365 Password is the same as your Tufts Password, to change it, please visit tuftstools.tufts.edu
- Contact Preferences: You may change this information based upon your preferences

Installing Office Professional Plus
Please note that Office Professional Plus cannot be installed in conjunction with other copies of Office, so make sure you uninstall existing Office installations if you have one already
- Select Software and choose to download the version of Office of your operating system.
- Once you install Office, you will be prompted to select how to license it – select "Sign in using an existing Office 365 Subscription"
- On the next screen, enter your Tufts Username with @tufts.edu.
- e.g. jsmith01@tufts.edu
- When Prompted, enter in your Tufts Password
- Your office 365 subscription allows up to five licenses of Office Professional Plus, you can manage your licenses within your Office 365 account settings at login.microsoftonline.com
