Opening a Shared Mailbox

Confirm you have Access to the Mailbox

  1. Log into exchange.tufts.edu as yourself
  2. In the upper-righthand corner, select your name and then enter the email address or login name of the shared mailbox
  3. Click ok

The shared mailbox should load.  If It doesn't, contact it@tufts.edu to review the permissions on the account.

Opening a Shared Mailbox in Outlook 2010

 

  1. Once inside Outlook, go to the "File" Tab and select "Add Account"
  2. Enter in the name you to be displayed on emails from this account, as well as the email address for the account.  
  3. Do NOT enter in a password
  4. Choose "Next"
  5. You will be prompted to log in, choose "Other Login" and then provide your own Tufts Username and Tufts Password.  It is not recommended, but you can cache the password there if you like, just remember when you change your password in the future that it will need to be updated.
