Managing patches not applied via autofix
TSS Support Systems currently maintains a set of software that is automatically patched by the Landesk agent. The list of the software is here.
If you need to patch software, not included in this list, each group in Tufts needs to add (approve) Landesk definitions and repair via scheduled task. These definitions can be approved following the directions below:
Ones a week (preferably) , all new available software patches in Landesk have to be approved and moved into Approved custom group (each Support group has one created in Landesk)
1. Open "Patch and compliance" manager in Landesk
2. Make sure Type = "All Types" and Filter = " All Items"
3. Drill down "All Types" folder and click "Scan"
4. Sort all available patches by "Date published" column on the right
If you don't see the column, right click on the title bar, click "Columns" and add "Date published"
5. Review available patches (not approved since the last approval date), select and drag the newly approved patches to Groups->Custom Groups-> YOUR_SUPPORT_GROUP Approved on the left.
6.Right click on the folder and schedule task to patch custom software.
