Description
The "Adobe Acrobat for Faculty Grants" program provides Adobe Acrobat licenses free of charge to Tufts faculty submitting grant applications to funding organizations. More and more funding agencies have begun to require that grant applications be submitted as PDF (portable document format) files. Adobe Acrobat, a software package used to create PDF files, is the standard most commonly accepted by funding organizations. This volume license provides Acrobat at no cost to faculty submitting grant applications.
Faculty who wish to determine their eligibility for a license may contact Liz Brady or (as a backup) Paul Murphy. Once eligibility is determined, arrangements will be made to install the software on the faculty member's computer. (Alternatively, at the faculty member's option, the software may be installed on an administrator's computer.)
Each faculty member may only receive one license under this program, and the software must be installed on a computer owned by Tufts University.
Support
Requests to determine if someone is eligible are handled by UITSC, but may need to be sent to the contact person in OVP (listed above) if they are not on UITSC's list. UITSC also tracks licenses.
FSPs handle the actual installation and support of Adobe Acrobat.
