MDE Known Issues

Warnings
- Computers with hardware or software RAID should not be encrypted
- Encryption software may impede data recovery in the event of hardware failure
- Computers should be decrypted before installing Windows OS Service Packs or upgrades
Notable Issues impacting Tufts

Drive Encryption GO (DEGO) 7.1 Compliance Query is showing failures for all systems, even though individual system properties show all tests as Successful. Systems might fail to activate if the DE 7.1 Policy is set to activate only if the DEGO Health Check passes. |
EEGO checks are no longer required before the computer is encrypted. This setting will be re-enabled once 7.1.1 is available |
DE 7.1 and EEPC 7.0.x are not supported on Microsoft's Surface Pro or Surface Pro 2 tablet devices. While you might be able to install the DE/EEPC application on Microsoft's Surface hardware, McAfee cannot provide Technical Support if you encounter issues. |

MDE will not activate if the computer has Wave Trusted Drive Manager. Wave Trusted Drive Manager is part of the Dell Data Protection|Access suite and is incompatible with MDE. |
