LANDesk Licensing & Support Information

LANDesk® Academic License Full-Time Equivalent (FTE)

Tufts University uses the LANDesk® Academic License Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) program. LANDesk's Academic Alliance FTE program provides the right to use products purchased, regardless of the number of computers. Easily calculate your annual fee, based on the total number of FTE students and staff.

License administration is also simplified. The LANDesk Academic License FTE program authorizes administrators to count and pay only once a year, even as student counts fluctuate.

We are currently licensed for 13,903 Nodes.

Upgrade Protection Available 

Licenses obtained through the LANDesk Academic License FTE program are for current product versions only. If you want the ability to upgrade during the contract period, you can purchase upgrade protection separately for a nominal charge. At the end of the contract term, renewal of the contract provides the right to use or upgrade to the most current product versions.

Enterprise Technical Support 

Tufts currently has a 25 incident pack availabe which expires June 2013.  These should only be used for emergencies or problems that severely affect production.

Phone support is available through LANDesk incident packs. Choose the 5, 10, 25 or unlimited incident pack to meet your needs. Incident packs are good for one year or until the number of included incidents have been used up. LANDesk also offers a technical account manager option to provide proactive and comprehensive support. Talk to LANDesk account manager about the option that works best for your organization.

Upgrade to Dedicated Support 

For an even higher level of support, you can also purchase dedicated support from a LANDesk technical account manager. Each technical account manager is dedicated exclusively to a select number of accounts. You get the benefits of adding a proactive, LANDesk specialist to your team without adding another employee. You can count on your LANDesk technical account manager for expertise on all LANDesk products and for direct access to the engineers who developed the products your organization depends on.

Perpetual License Option 

Academic Alliance FTE program licenses can be converted to perpetual licenses. If you wish to convert a renewable annual license to a perpetual license, LANDesk will apply 25 percent of the total annual fees paid for a renewable annual license to the cost of a perpetual license.
