Clients using old LANDesk Agents

Clients using old LANDesk Agents

LANDesk 9.5 (SSVMLDSKCORE) was sucessfully decommissioned however there may still be machines on campus that are still pointing to the old server that never moved due to being offline, offcampus or issues with LANDesk Agent installation.  Because these machines have the old LANDesk 9.5 SSL certificate they will not be able to be controlled by the LANDesk 9.6 Core (WLDESKCOREPRD01) however they will still successfully send their inventory data.  A new LANDesk 9.6 Agent should be deployed or installed on these clients.

A CNAME of the old LANDesk core server (SSVMLDESKCORE.tufts.ad.tufts.edu) was put in place so that all remaining old clients will report their inventory to the new LANDesk 9.6 core (WLDESKCOREPRD01.tufts.ad.tufts.edu) however you will not be able to managed these devices until a new LANDesk Agent is deployed.

For clients that did not properly update to LANDesk 9.5 SP1 Agent there is a Query in LANDesk under:

  • Public queries > TTS > TTS -  Old LANDesk Agents

The clients that are still pointing to the old LANDesk Core server and will need to be updated by IT groups on campus.
