Importing repos from GitLab into GitHub Enterprise

Another way of migrating your Git repositories from GitLab to GitHub Enterprise is simply importing the repository using the Import wizard.

The Tufts internal GitLab server (gitlab.it.tufts.edu) has been setup to allow traffic from external GitHub IP ranges to facilitate this process.

Go to: https://github.com/new/import

Click “Begin Import.”

The Import process will ask for Credentials or a Personal Access Token if your existing repository is not publicly available.

You will receive an email when the import process is completed.
