ENVI-IDL Installation (Step-by-Step)

This is a guide on how to manually install ENVI-IDL, a piece of software used in the School of Engineering. This guide is for anyone that has to perform this installation manually; there is a package located at \\titan\software$\Engineering\Exelis that contains all the necessary components and a batch file to perform the install.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Unzip ENVI-IDL file from \\Titan\Ldeskpackages$\Engineering\S:\Engineering\Exelis\ENVI51IDL83
  2. Run Setup64.exe
  3. Install has no input, and takes between 30 and 45 minutes
  4. Copy the "network.lic" file contained within the ENVI folder to C:\Program Files\Exelis
  5. When install completes, you will be prompted to activate the software license. Select “Install a license you have received”, then browse to the license you copied over.
