Overview
The OIT print server is only used for OIT supported printers and OIT supported computers. Printers that are not supported by OIT will not be added to the OIT print server and computers that are not managed by OIT should not install printers from it.
The server itself is hosted by ESS (UIT) but the service is managed by OIT.

Maintenance Window
Since UIT host the server, their maintenance windows are detailed here
Any service changes by OIT will be made within the same windows detailed above. OIT Liaisons will be notified of any outages 48 hours in advance except in certain extenuating circumstances.
Procedure to install a printer from the OIT print server

Adding a network printer to the OIT print server.
Email oit@tufts.edu or create a ticket in ITSM and assign it to the OIT Service Center queue.
Include the dns name, model number, and room and building location of the printer. Please make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the network before requesting it be added. The ticket will be assigned to a Senior OIT technician who will follow the procedure provided here
Known Issues
Jobs with file names longer than 255 characters hang and do not print.
