Overview

This page serves to outline all the important information that IT groups will need to know for the LANDesk 9.6 Upgrade.

General Info

The upgrade is currently scheduled for the first December 5th 2014.  It may be delayed for 1-2 weeks if major bugs are identified during testing.

What does my IT department need to do before the upgrade?

Testing for Landesk 9.6 details information on how IT groups can test Landesk 9.6 prior.

Finally, IT groups should read over the list of the Important Changes with Landesk 9.6. There are some configuration changes and groups should review them so they are prepared. Any concerns or objections to the configuration changes can be directed to support-systems@tufts.edu.

How does my IT group need to do for the upgrade itself?

For the upgrade process itself, Support Systems will create a scheduled task to distribute the Landesk 9.6 agents to all computers that current have landesk installed.

Any IT groups with equipment or other computers that should not have software automatically patched should contact support-systems@tufts.edu to identify the best solution for those machines.

IT groups which manage their own GPOs will be responsible for updating these GPOs to use the new agents on the day of the upgrade.

What does my IT department need to do after the upgrade?

After the upgrade, any IT department using Provisioning templates will need to review and update some of the actions. The actions that generally require updating are: installing the Landesk agent, deploy image, etc.
