Hubspot Marketing Contacts

Our Kafka integration private app in Hubspot must be set to sync contacts as marketing

Existing marketing contacts can only be set to non-marketing at the first of each month.

Failsafe Workflow

The following workflow is setup to detect contacts from our Kafka integration that get synced as non-marketing. This workflow will set them to marketing automatically. This will give us time to update the marketing contact sync toggle and ensure and contacts synced before that update occurs are set as marketing.

The workflow allows for re-enrollment of existing contacts if they get set as non-marketing again later.

Implementation Decisions

1. The field Original Source drill-down 2 original chosen by the Hubspot rep is empty while the field Original Source Drill-Down 2 is populated, but not accessible in the workflow editor. There is some discrepancy in these two fields. As a workaround, we will use the field External System Type and check to see if it set to Slate or Destiny One.
