Summary Description

Started as 4+1 (accelerated) program development, but merged into total overhaul of academic structure

4+1 Considerations

How things currently look in SIS:

Note the difference in how the dual data is sent:

there may be some good business process reasons for this not to go automatically for programs that are admitting at the same time, but for adding a program to an existing one, the automatic set of the dual flag seems like a good idea. Model: TUSMGP B/MPH Program:

recommendations--one has to be their advisor. Do they really need any more?

separate application? I think not…can set up the program without export values.

First discussion 6/28/2023

Big question: same round (application) vs different round (application)?

Thoughts:

  • use conditional logic to weed out non-Tufts applicants

  • ability to apply through regular ‘apply’ button lowers barrier to entry

  • self-service transcript in application

  • possibility of data flowing to Slate from SIS--don’t need personal data, address, stuff that

  • thinking of opening application in Spring 2024 for entry in 2025; there is one student (currently a freshman) has already reached out

  • when do people decide their concentration? If there is a generic MS program they matriculate into, rather than one of the programs that already exists, needs to be set up in SIS
