To generate a CSR for Microsoft IIS 7.0, perform the following steps:

1. Choose Start > Administrative Tools > Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager

2. In IIS Manager, in the Tree pane, highlight the server.

3. In the Features pane (the middle pane), double-click Server Certificates 

4. From the Actions pane, click Create Certificate Request.

5. The first screen of the wizard asks for details regarding the new site. The Common Name should match the fully-qualified domain name for the site (Not the server name). Fill in the remainder of the fields.

6. Click Next

7. The next screen of the wizard asks you to choose cryptography options. Select Microsoft RSA SChannel Cryptography Provider. Select 2048 bit length.

8. Click Next.

9. Provide a file name to which to save the certificate request. Take note of where it is being saved. 

10. Click Finish

11. Open a TC ticket with ESS and attach the file. See Ordering an SSL Certificate for details.
