Overview

PXE Objects are limited records added to Landesk inventory when a computer PXE boots from the Landesk PXE rep. When you network boot a computer, if that computer is not already in Landesk inventory, Landesk will create a new entry in inventory with the mac address of the computer as the device name. When you select a provisioning template in WinPE, Landesk creates a scheduled task and targets the the PXE object of the computer you are network booting.

40 of 40 Timeout Issues

If you do not have the PXE objects scope you will not be able to use WinPE Provisioning. If you are getting a 40 of 40 timeout when trying to select a template, please contact support-systems@tufts.edu.
