For a number of years, Tufts has maintained a 500-user license for SAS Institute’s Education Analytical Suite and has charged a fee for SAS use. Recently, UIT TTS converted the University’s SAS license coverage from limited to enterprise-wide.

- SAS licenses expire yearly on September 30th.
- SAS has a 45 day silent grace period, and an additional 45 day period within which the program will still function with a nag window.
- On December 29th, the program will stop working, unless license update is provided

License Renewal
- SAS is updated every year by either pushing an update packages through Landesk for the different version, or manually using the license files (setinit) provided by UIT. The files are distributed yearly through elistsoftware-distribution@elist.tufts.edu
