h2. IdentityFinder Home Edition

IdentityFinder is a software suite that can help locate sensitive information such as credit card or social security numbers.  {link-window:href=http://uit.tufts.edu/|icon=false|tip=Visit UITs homepage}UIT{link-window} has licensed one copy of the Home version of IdentityFinder for all Tufts students, faculty, and staff.  We encourage you to use the home version on your personal computer to help locate sensitive information so that it can be protected or removed (if no longer needed). # h2. Download IdentityFinder Home Edition
Download and install IdentityFinder Home Edition [here|Home Edition - Download].  Mac OS X and Windows XP, Vista, and 7 are supported.  This version of the software includes some helpful default settings.
# h2. Activate IdentityFinder Home Edition
Once you've installed the software, get an activation code {link-window:href=https://identityfinder.com/store/customer.pl?accountid=63629}here{link-window}.  This will allow you to run the software for the next year, after which you'll need to re-activate using the same process.
# h2. Scan
Scan your computer for old data you may not need to keep any more that could be risky if you got a virus.  It's easy, and will make your computer safer.  Check [here|Guide - Windows] for help running a scan on Windows, and [here|Guide - Mac] for help on Mac.
