Note: The date reflected in title is based on the morning the migration goes live for the user. For analysis purposes, the corresponding server migrations would occur the evening before.

Server Migrations

  • utln@trumpeter-store.tufts.edu routing object in Trumpeter.tufts.edu not updated to utln@exchange.tufts.edu
  • Users successfully added to scripts group

Client Migrations

Windows

Outlook 2007 > Outlook 2007: (XP)

  • Re-entered password, no visible change.
  • Emphasis on OWA new address is important from outlook.web.tufts.edu to exchange.tufts.edu

Thunderbird > Outlook 2007: XP

  • Cached Mode took 3 minutes for a 300mb mailbox.

Thunderbird > Outlook 2003: XP

  • Functioned as expected. caching was within threshold as Outlook 2007.

Thunderbird > Thunderbird: XP

  • Working as expected, the caution from the infrastructure group is to create a NEW imap connection, not merely adjust the server values to reflect the exchange IMAP servers due to potential issues with re-indexing duplication.

Login Script: XP

  • Logon script ran successfully
  • If someone has Outlook set to "Prompt for profile choice" they will need to select the "new" profile in order for script success. (it will be the first choice, and a rare occurrence for that setting to be set.)

Macintosh

Entourage 2008 > Entourage EWS: OSX 10.6.4

  • Caching takes a while, the upgrade took 5 minutes.
  • Large local profiles can take a while to import
  • Use OWA in the meantime.

Mac Mail (IMAP) > Mac Mail (MAPI): OSX 10.6.4

  • Add the MAPI account and remove the old IMAP account.
  • Local mail does not need to be migrated, same profile.
  • Caching is faster than Entourage EWS.

Thunderbird > Thunderbird: OSX 10.6.4

  • Working as expected, the caution from the infrastructure group is to create a NEW imap connection, not merely adjust the server values to reflect the exchange IMAP servers due to potential issues with re-indexing duplication.

Web Clients

OWA: Firefox 3.6.x, IE 7, Safari 4

Mobile Devices
