In August, Network Services will be migrating to a new VPN platform as part of a standard hardware refresh.  As part of this solution, we will be changing vendors which will introduce

Why are we changing vendors?

We feel that the new solution will be more flexibile for the Tutts Community going forward.

Will the same features apply?

The VPN software (called AnyConnect) will replace use of Network Connect ( and Junos Pulse ) and the limited web portal will continue to have basic bookmark functionality and will have the softwatre repository for AnyConnect.

What Operating Systems will this run on?

Inital testing has shown success with:

OS X 10.7, 10.8, 10.9

Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1A

In addition to the desktop operating systems, the Android and iOS applications are available in the Google Play and Apple store respectively

Where can I get more information about functionality?

There is an attachment on this Wiki page showing more screen shots regarding functionality

How can I get the software for my operating system?

We plan on distributing the software via Landesk.   In addition to pushing to desktops, the software can be retreived by logging into https://vpn.tufts.edu.   Then on the left, clicking on "Installing AnyConnect" on the left will bring up the software packages on the right.

How about Linux support?

There are 32 and 64 bit software packages for Linux but they are not currently supported

A  Basic testing seems to indicate it works but there are a few bugs being reported by the vendor
