Remove IdentityFinder Profile

Overview

If you have forgotten your IdentityFinder profile password, you'll need to delete and re-create your profile. You'll lose any scan results you've saved or false-positives you've identified, but you will be provided with the Tufts default settings in your new profile.

Windows

  1. Close IdentityFinder, if the application is open
  2. Open the C:\ drive and navigate to the local application data area within your user folder:
    Windows XP
    C:\Documents and Settings\UTLN\Local Settings\Application Data\ 
    Windows Vista/Windows 7
    C:\Users\UTLN\AppData\Local\ 
  3. Delete the "Identity Finder" folder
  4. Open the IdentityFinder application. You'll be asked to create a new profile with a new password.

Mac OS X

  1. Close IdentityFinder, if the application is open (click Cancel if asked for your password, then )
  2. Open Finder, and browse to the application support location in your home directory (usually your UTLN; potentially another username):
    Mac OS X
    /Macintosh HD/Users/UTLN/Library/Application Support/ 
  3. Delete the "Identity Finder" folder
  4. Open the IdentityFinder application. You'll be asked to create a new profile with a new password.
