Moving OfficeScan 10 Clients to the 10.6 Server
- An OfficeScan Administrator (UITSC) can a client directly from the OfficeScan 10.0 Web ConsoleÂ
- Under Networked Computers > Client Management > Select OfficeScan Server Domain (or computer)
- Select Manage Client Tree > Â Move Client
- Select Manage Client Tree > Â Move Client
- Under Networked Computers > Client Management > Select OfficeScan Server Domain (or computer)
- Using the IpXfer.exe Tool via login script or LANDesk
- In LANDesk, under Public Packages -> UIT -> "Move Clients to OfficeScan 10.6 Server"
- Deploy to your clients using Scheduled Task
- Download IpXfer.exe (IpXfer_x64.exe for 64-bit) from TFTMVMTREND1\ofcscan\Admin\Utility\IpXfer
- Run following command:Â IpXfer.exe -s tabvmtrend1.tufts.ad.tufts.edu -p 8080 -m 1 -c 41813
- Run manually or deploy via Login Script
- In LANDesk, under Public Packages -> UIT -> "Move Clients to OfficeScan 10.6 Server"
- Installing the new OfficeScan 10.6 Client from Software Share
- Uninstall old OfficeScan 10 Client using previous Uninstall Password
- Install OfficeScan 10.6 Client from software$ share or deploy via LANDesk
- \\titan\software$\FSP\OfficeScan 10.6 Clients
- NOTE: Deploying via the MSI via GPO will not work because the previous version requires a password to uninstall
- This can be scripted by providing an Uninstall password but the process isnt as smooth since you would need to reboot the machine after uninstalling the OfficeScan 10.0 ClientÂ
- \\titan\software$\FSP\OfficeScan 10.6 Clients
- Deploying UIT-OfficeScan106 Migration Script via Group Policy
- There is a Group Policy called "UIT-OfficeScan106 Migration Script" which you may link to your Computer OUs to transition to OfficeScan 10.6
- This GPO runs a batch script at Startup
- This script checks to see what current OfficeScan Server you're connected to. Â If it finds anything else, it will migrate you to tabvmtrend1.tufts.ad.tufts.edu
- There is a Group Policy called "UIT-OfficeScan106 Migration Script" which you may link to your Computer OUs to transition to OfficeScan 10.6
