Adding Devices to a Scheduled Task
Once a scheduled task has been created there are several methods of which to target devices or to manually add them to your scheduled task. You may simply select a computer, highlight it and drag it into your scheduled task. You can also target devices using LDAP location, pre-written queries, device groups or even scopes.
In this example, we’re going to use a query to target the device.
Note: You will need to use the Query Tool to first create the query and then drag and drop the query onto the scheduled task.
Targeting Devices Using Queries
In this example, we are going to target every computer in Active Directory for the UITSC/Computers OU. After creating the query for this location, you can drag and drop the query onto the scheduled task. Â
From the Main Console, right-click My Queries, and select New Query.
The New Query window opens.
Once you have dragged your query into the Schedule task, you may right click on the scheduled task and go to Target devices to verify that your query is being targeted.
You may use multiple methods for targeting devices in your scheduled task.
