Overview

In a VDI environment, virtualized desktops are hosted in a single machine on different partitions. When doing an on-demand scan or when performing an Update Now using previous versions of OfficeScan, the scanning or update may cause high CPU usage or may slow down the system.

OfficeScan 10.5/10.6 will create a white list for the template or primary image and all the items included in the white list will skip scanning. OfficeScan will only scan the changes made from the template or primary image. OfficeScan supports the following VDI environments:

  • VMware View/vCenter
  • Citrix XenServer
  • Microsoft Hyper-V Platform

 

The VDI plugin is being used with the Tufts VMware View deployment.
