Best Practices for LANDesk Agent Configuration & Deployment

  1. Manually install the LANDesk Agent on your PCs
    1. You can manually install the LANDesk agent on your PC or Mac by directly running .exe or .msi file from the network share (requires Administrator privileges).
  2. Install the LANDesk Agent use the AdvanceAgent.msi with Group Policy
    1. This is the preferred method since it can be assigned to the Computer OUs in Active Directory and will ensure that the LANDesk Agent gets installed on all your domain clients.
    2. The advance agent consists of a small MSI and a self contained EXE. The MSI is deployed to the client and then the MSI downloads and installs the EXE. This allows for bandwidth friendly downloads.
  3.  Install the LANDesk Agent via Login Script or using WSCFG32.EXE
    1. Have your login script call IPsetup.exe
    2. Launch WSCFG32.EXE from LDlogon folder on the SSVMLDESKCORE
