How to install LANDesk 9.6 SP2 Console

Installing a remote LANDesk 9.6 SP2 Management Console on a technician PC

 

The LANDesk Management Console is used to interact with the various management suite features; e.g., to distribute software, remotely control managed devices, view inventory information, and perform other management functions.

Prerequisites: User must be assigned rights and proper roles in LANDesk before proceeding. Please email IT@tufts.edu to request access if you do not already have appropriate permissions.

The LANDesk 9.6 Console cannot be installed on a computer that already has a LANDesk 9.5 console. You will need to remove LANDesk 9.5 Console first if you have it installed currently.
IMPORTANT:  .NET 4.5 Framework is required on the machine to have the new console installed

  1. Navigate to the following share: \\titan\ldeskpackages$\LANDesk96Console and launch the executable file to start LANDesk console installation. (Requires administrator privileges).
  2. The setup wizard will be launched, follow the prompts
  3. Once the installation has completed you will be prompted to Reboot.

Start the management console

  1. Launch the LANDesk Management Console and verify the version of Landesk management console installed


    Start > Program Files/All Programs > LANDesk > LANDesk Management Console
  2. Enter “tufts\UTLN” as your username and your Active Directory password.
  3. Enter "WLDESKCOREPRD01" for Core server name.
