How to install LANDesk 9.6 SP2 Console
Installing a remote LANDesk 9.6 SP2 Management Console on a technician PC
The LANDesk Management Console is used to interact with the various management suite features; e.g., to distribute software, remotely control managed devices, view inventory information, and perform other management functions.
Prerequisites: User must be assigned rights and proper roles in LANDesk before proceeding. Please email IT@tufts.edu to request access if you do not already have appropriate permissions.
The LANDesk 9.6 Console cannot be installed on a computer that already has a LANDesk 9.5 console. You will need to remove LANDesk 9.5 Console first if you have it installed currently.
IMPORTANT: .NET 4.5 Framework is required on the machine to have the new console installed
- Navigate to the following share: \\titan\ldeskpackages$\LANDesk96Console and launch the executable file to start LANDesk console installation. (Requires administrator privileges).
- The setup wizard will be launched, follow the prompts
- Once the installation has completed you will be prompted to Reboot.
Start the management console
- Launch the LANDesk Management Console and verify the version of Landesk management console installed
Start > Program Files/All Programs > LANDesk > LANDesk Management Console - Enter “tufts\UTLN” as your username and your Active Directory password.
- Enter "WLDESKCOREPRD01" for Core server name.
