Using parameters in mailings

There were two things going on: first, your link in the body of the email had been changed/updated so many times, it wasn’t working properly and second, you needed to add the Person GUID export to the query attached to the mailing so that there was data to be merged in for each recipient of the email so the link would work.

So now the URL is corrected, we just need to add the export into the query so that there is data to merge into {{Person-GUID}} when the email is sent. Just like {{person-email}} or {{preferred-name}} is the name of the field that contains the email address or the preferred name data in the students record (so you need to have it in your query as an export), Person GUID is another piece of information in the student record that is unique to the student and is being merged into the text of the mailing. A “GUID” is a 16 character ID code that is unique to the person record and tells Slate which record to look for to pre-populate the data in the form.
