Boston Campus students are permitted to view space on the Space & Resource Reservation System (VEMS) but they are not permitted to request space through the system. Because EMS is designed to enable users to request space, a work around was required to restrict a user’s access to view onlyspace.

This document describes the web process template configuration to restrict a user’s access to View Only .  This configuration will  prevent a user from submitting a request space(preventing the user from using the system to request space). Users assigned to templates with this configuration will receive the error message below if they submit a space request:

1. Navigation: Configuration>Web>Web Process Templates>New
2. Complete all tabs necessary – at minimum:
   1. Web Template 
   2. Booking Rules
   3. Booking Days = Range of Days with following settings:
      1. Only Allow New Bookings Within Range of This Many Days = 364
      2. Use New Booking Cutoff Time = 12AM; Number of Days = 365
3. Rooms (i.e. rooms that are visible but cannot be requested)
