PXE is primarily used to boot into the Landesk WinPE environment. Since the WinPE environment doesn't use hard drives at all, PXE is most often used to deploy images to computers. There are many other uses for PXE and WinPE such as creating images, troubleshooting hardware issues, cleaning up malware, and resetting local Windows passwords.
