Spark-as-a-Service demonstration by Qubole and Big Data Applications by DataXu
March 5th, 6-9pm
281 Summer St, 4th floor, Boston, MA
Spark has the potential to “run programs up to 100 times faster than Hadoop MapReduce in memory, or 10 times faster on disk.” according to stats on Apache.org. And with the Qubole Data Service (QDS) Spark as a Service offering, ad-hoc users can launch Spark clusters in minutes. In this presentation Ashish will provide a broad overview of Qubole and how Spark as a service fits into the platform. This will be followed by a hands-on demonstration from Praveen Seluka, that will cover combining data from various sources, including Spark, and using QDS’ query editor and visual query builder to give developers and data scientists an easy and immediate way to access Spark data.
